Awards of Excellence Nomination Criteria

Nomination Guidelines

Each nomination submission must be completed using the online Nomination Form addressing the below-mentioned award criteria. All written responses must specifically answer the nomination criteria for the submission to be complete. Criteria are stated in the nomination form to highlight how to develop a response and what judges will review, measure, and score. Therefore, please include specific examples demonstrating the achievement for each criterion. We strongly encourage your submission to highlight measurable results that drive value to the CRE organization and its processes, procedures, and workplace. Each submission may be no longer than 4 pages total. Workplace submissions must include a minimum of 10 photos. Please also submit headshots and firm logos with project images for submission. Only nominations for individuals in good standing of the Mid-Atlantic Chapter of CoreNet Global will be considered. If nominating a company or team, at least one person must be a member in good standing of the Mid-Atlantic Chapter of CoreNet Global. Additionally, members of the Chapter Executive Committee cannot participate in the award submissions.

Young Leader Award 

Award Description

The CoreNet Global Mid-Atlantic Young Leader Award recognizes a Young Leader member (35 or younger) whose service, performance, and interactions with multiple clients in the Mid-Atlantic Region provide a uniquely valued experience. This award recognizes innovative service ideas and actions that transcend the expected.

Award Criteria

  • Please provide examples of demonstrated ability to deliver as promised, when promised, while exceeding client expectations
  • Please detail two examples of how the nominee has successfully built relationships with Senior CRE leaders or other key organizational stakeholders
  • Highlight the nominee's contributions to Environmental, Social, and Corporate Governance initiatives within their organization or for others to implement
  • Provide two references that support the nominee's reputation for high ethical standards 
  • Elaborate on the nominee's contributions to CoreNet Mid-Atlantic Chapter and other real estate industry organizations and associations

Only nominations for individuals in good standing of the Mid-Atlantic Chapter of CoreNet Global will be considered. If nominating a company, at least one person must be a member in good standing of the Mid-Atlantic Chapter of CoreNet Global. Additionally, members of the Chapter Executive Committee cannot be nominated.

Service Provider Leadership Award 

Award Description

The CoreNet Global Mid-Atlantic Service Provider Leadership Award recognizes individuals whose service, performance, and interactions with multiple clients in the Mid-Atlantic Region provide a uniquely valued experience. This award recognizes innovative service ideas and actions that transcend the expected.

Award Criteria

  • Provide examples of demonstrated ability to deliver as promised, when promised, while exceeding client expectations
  • Describe two examples of where the nominee or their firm applied new ideas and innovative approaches to solving non-standard challenges
  • Highlight the nominee's involvement in mentoring and developing young leaders
  • Highlight the nominee’s contributions to Environmental, Social, and Corporate Governance initiatives within their organization or for others to implement
  • Provide two references that support the nominee's reputation for high ethical standards. 
  • Elaborate on the nominee's contributions to CoreNet Mid-Atlantic Chapter and other real estate industry organizations and associations.

Corporate Partnership  Award 

Award Description

The CoreNet Global Mid-Atlantic Corporate Real Estate (CRE) Partnership Award recognizes teams of corporate real estate and service providers who partner to deliver high-performance results demonstrating proven value to the organization through collaboration. Please note that both the CRE end-user organization and service provider must be members of CoreNet Global.

Award Criteria

  • Provide a specific example of implementing innovative approaches and practices that enhance the delivery of corporate real estate services to the end user
  • Detail and demonstrate a financial, productivity, or optimization benefit
  • Illustrate how the partnership maintains a commitment to all aspects of partnership, collaboration, and transparency
  • Provide examples of implementing sustainable, repeatable organizational practices over the long term instead of one-time occurrences
  • Highlight one or more of the following with an example of demonstrated success criteria:
    • Successful integration of key real estate stakeholders with the use of innovative solutions for complex transactions, projects, or programs
    • Highlight Environmental, Social, and Corporate Governance or other Corporate Responsibility initiatives

Additionally, members of the Chapter Executive Committee cannot be nominated.

Corporate Responsibility & Social  Impact  Award 

Award Description

New for the 2024 Awards of Excellence, the CoreNet Global Mid Atlantic is establishing a Corporate Responsibility and Social Impact Award given to the project or strategic initiative that embodies the firm’s commitment to sustainability, Net Zero/Carbon Reduction, Diversity/Equity/Inclusion, and/or community reinvestment. This award recognizes a corporate project or strategic initiative delivered in 2023 that furthered a client or organization’s efforts to achieve social impact in Corporate Real Estate.

Award Criteria

  • Elaborate on the project or initiative vision and stakeholder engagement strategy to achieve stated outcome(s)
  • Describe the applicability and creativity of the solution to other organizations within Corporate Real Estate
  • Provide specific evidence on expected outcomes and key performance metrics for success

This submission may be a joint effort by one of the project’s service providers and the end user in good standing of the Mid-Atlantic Chapter of CoreNet Global.

Best New Workplace Solution
Three Award Categories

Award Description

New for the 2024 Awards of Excellence, the CoreNet Global Mid-Atlantic Best New Workplace Solution Award has three submission categories:

  • Less than 25,000 RSF
  • 26,000 – 50,000 RSF
  • Greater than 50,000 RSF

These awards recognize a corporate workplace project and/or strategy delivered and completed during 2023 in the Mid-Atlantic region that demonstrates purposeful design excellence, impactful user experience, and innovative ingenuity and significantly enhances the company’s ability to meet its core business goals.

Submitting firms can submit for more than one award but cannot submit the same project for multiple award categories. Firms are limited to no more than two workplace award category submissions. This submission may be a joint effort by one of the project’s service providers and the end user. The award will be presented to both.

* The submission categories listed are intended to provide an equitable evaluation by grouping similarly sized submissions. Should the distribution of submissions across categories become imbalanced, the evaluation committee may adjust noted ranges as appropriate. We want to showcase your wonderful achievements! 

Award Criteria

  • Describe the workplace strategy and design intent for the selected category
  • Highlight that the project was delivered within the Mid-Atlantic Region between January 2023 and December 2023
  • Highlight two examples of demonstrated improvements to core business functionality and/or working environments through design and project implementation
  • Describe creative workplace concepts deployed to meet project goals and objectives.
  • Provide specific evidence of creative cost reduction or cost-neutral strategies to deliver the project
  • Demonstrate elevated hospitality and increased workplace activation, collaboration, and enhanced services that promote employee engagement, productivity, and workplace vibrancy
  • Highlight how technology or digital tools transform the business strategy and foster user experience

Only nominations for individuals in good standing of the Mid-Atlantic Chapter of CoreNet Global will be considered. If nominating a company, at least one person must be a member in good standing of the Mid-Atlantic Chapter of CoreNet Global. Additionally, members of the Chapter Executive Committee cannot be nominated for an award.

Showstopper Award

Award Description

All nomination submissions are eligible to receive special recognition from the Judges for “standing out from the crowd.”  Submissions that highlight impact, innovation, vision, and creativity and captivate with their ingenuity, commitment to sustainability, and community are qualified to win.  All submissions should celebrate the power of teamwork and partnership, where multiple players come together to create something truly inspiring and impactful.
