Secretary Connaughton will discuss the historic $1.2 billion funding bill that was adopted by the Virginia General Assembly and signed by Governor McDonnell. The unprecedented allocation of transportation funding will be used to build and maintain previously identified road, transit and other transportation infrastructure projects in Virginia. Secretary Connaughton will share the twists and turns of the transportation bill as it made its way through the legislature. The Secretary will also talk about the major transportation issues affecting Tysons Comer, 1-66 and the Dulles Corridor and will also comment on the anticipated transportation improvements throughout Northern Virginia and how they will affect economic development and relieve congestion in the years to come. We are also pleased to have as the program Moderator, transportation guru Bob Chase, President and CEO of the Northern Virginia Transportation Alliance.
